This morning, Blogger was acting peculiarly. Trying to post, I got some very odd screens. People called me, saying they couldn't post comments. For a while, blogger.com was off the grid.
"Reminds me of the old days," I thought. Wasn't it only about four years ago that Ev was running Blogger out of his bedroom? He was software architect, sysop, and the only employee of Blogger. Customers were signing up in hoards; they overwhelmed the system. Users took up a collection to buy another server, sort of a cyber-barnraising. And in time, things became reliable and smooth. Along comes deep-pockets Google, and everything really starts to hum.
Until this morning. Felt like old times.
