Net connection speed test. Fast. Free.

My DSL tonight is 1.2 MB up down and .25MB down up.

(Thank you, anonymous. I did have up and down reversed originally.)

2.8 down and .38 up, cable modem to U.S.-based servers, from Moncton, Canada.

Testing (using Speakeasy) my Eastlink cable connection in Halifax, NS, Canada, I get 6.33 mbits/sec down, .88 up.

Halifax cable now does up to 10 megabits/sec download.
