Class in Taiwan
Thursday, November 10, 2005
Whew! I'm accustomed to one-hour talks. Three hours today seemed to go on forever. Tomorrow's twice as long.

Training tip: Don't try to entertain a Chinese audience with a comedy skit featuring an American telling jokes in a thick Italian accent.

Training tip #2: Don't insert six slides on the news article you read at breakfast the day of the presentation no matter how compelling.

Training tip #3: Remember that outside of Silicon Valley, every audience contains people who have no experience in the blogosphere.

Training tip #4: Cookie cutter solutions don't travel well. Motivation is not a problem here.

Well, at least we had twice as many people as expected, Dick. The fellow who invited me here told me last night, "You're quite famous in Taiwan, you know." I didn't know. No one has asked for my autograph yet.

Well, I did enjoy the Italian-accent joke. That's really entertaining!

(I also brought your book to the siminar; it's a pity that I forgot to ask for your autograph. ^o^ )
